Hi, I’m Alyssa.
My love for photography began long ago as a little girl with a digital Kodak camera. I’d hang bedsheets from my bunkbed and dress my siblings up and make them pose for photographs with their lightsabers and American Girl dolls.
Fast-forward to 2016 when I met my now husband and spent our first time hanging out together posing for pictures and listening as Slater began to teach me about lighting and settings. Not long after, Slate let me play around with his camera and I began shooting regularly. I quickly surpassed him in knowledge and skill ;) and began shooting friends and family for fun.
In 2018 Slater and I began shooting weddings and families together as more of a side-hustle and S+A Young Photography was born. We’ve continued to shoot together for the past four years and while we still tackle weddings together, Slater prefers to keep our two kids at home while I jump into my creative outlet and capture your special moments.
I’m a mama to the sweetest boy and spunkiest little girl and I’ve been married to the my better half, Slater for almost 4 year. I love capturing moments big and small for people because I know how truly fast time flies. Seriously, one day you’re bringing home your baby from the hospital and the next they’re explaining how to use your phone.
